James J. Lemon

Your full name and nickname : James J. Lemon, aka "lemonjim" online or simply "Jim".

Your Homepage :

Software used by you :
Bryce, Painter, PhotoShop, Poser, ArtMatic, Illustrator, and some little Mac utilities I have created.

Current hardware (CPU, RAM, video card) :  Mac G4 867MHz, 768GB RAM, (Dual monitors) NVidia GeForce2 MX AGP card (17" Apple built-in) and a Number Nine PCI card (came with the 18" SGI).

How did you get into CG and when ? : Don't laugh too hard - I took a programming class in High School in 1977. We used punch cards and I made ASCII art. I was the one who knew how to re-thread a 16 mm film projector. Color was affordable around 1990 and it's been pretty heavy since then.

Does art play a role in your job? :
Only to a limited extent, I have to "inject" it, sometimes with great force. I'm just a consulting engineer at a commercial satellite manufacturer. Nevertheless, for example I can produce reports that are easier to read via cool graphics.

What other form of art do you do beside CG? :   I supplement the above with moonlighting to make them posters and stickers for launch celebrations. I love to draw, or you could say, "draft", as I was once a "kid draftsman". Something akin to animated cartooning is to me the very epitome, what I'd eventually like to try. Recently I discovered I could also carve real limestone, up to 212 lbs or more, at a whack, so quessing that would qualify as "other" art.
